Guidelines

NRI account holders are requested to report all the shares acquired through primary/secondary market, to HDFC Bank, except for purchases throughHDFC securities trading account. Effective 15th Sep 2015, account holders will be unable to sell shares which are non-reported. Account holders can contact us or their relationship managers to update these details.

In case of sale of ESOP shares, Fair Market Value will be considered as Cost of Purchase provided Perquisite tax has been paid in India. Otherwise the Grant Price will be considered as Cost of Purchase and accordingly TDS will be determined.

Apply for IPOs through HDFC securities trading account. Account holders need to submit the proof of purchase if applying from Bank or net banking, for reporting the same to PIS. Non-reporting will lead to restriction for sale.
