Apr22 | Tata Communication takes HD voice mainstream with the launch of its HD voice compatible voice n Tata Communication takes HD voice mainstream with the launch of its HD
voice compatible voice network
HD voice service enables MNOs to take advantage of increased revenue
opportunities by exchanging HD voice traffic over their existing IP
interconnect, bringing unrivalled call quality to end-users
Tata Communications has launched its international HD voice termination
service. The new service enables mobile network operators (MNOs) to route
international HD calls via end-to-end IP, without transcoding, ensuring
that HD customers calling HD-compatible destinations internationally will
receive the full HD experience.
The launch will become the platform that enables a broad community of HD
destinations as a result of Tata Communications` network which is connected
to 210 mobile network operators via IP voice interconnect. Twenty six of
these operators are HD-ready with 4 operators already in deployment for HD
voice on Tata Communications` network.
HD voice service ensures that calls are clearer and background noise is
significantly reduced, leading to longer calls and increased revenues for
MNOs. HD voice will play a critical role in enabling MNOs to increase
customer satisfaction and reduce churn on premium international calling and
high-margin roaming. The improved quality of HD voice simulates a sense of
being in the same room during a telephone conversation; hence, users are
likely to spend longer on calls. A better calling experience also gives
mobile operators a competitive advantage over OTT providers in terms of
quality of service.
In line with increasing demand for next generation communication services
including the rise of HD voice-enabled smartphones, Tata Communications has
created a community of MNOs globally, delivering better inter-provider
mobile service delivery and management through its IPX+ connectivity
platform. The company`s HD voice service is part of a strategy to enable
mobile operators to capitalise on the latest technology innovations in the
mobile broadband space via better inter-provider mobile service delivery
and management.
Tata Communications` voice capabilities are anchored by its network of
submarine and terrestrial cables as well as a tier-1 IP backbone with
connectivity to over 400 PoPs which reach more than 200 countries and
territories. The company is currently the world`s largest international
wholesale voice carrier, carrying more than 1 billion voice minutes per
week with 30+ voice strategic sourcing partnerships signed to date.

To bring high-speed network connectivity to more than 500 car parks across
France
Tata Communications and Vinci Park have announced a multi-year agreement to
bring high-speed network connectivity to more than 500 car parks across
France. This technology implementation will enable Vinci Park to centrally
manage and monitor its facilities across the country.
Round-the-clock monitoring is required to ensure the security of Vinci Park
customers and their vehicles. To optimise remote monitoring and management,
all 500 Vinci Park car parks will be connected to a central hub, located at
the company`s headquarters, providing constant supervision via a state-of-
the-art video system. The central hub is able to control the operation of
each site remotely by, for example, opening barriers and communicating with
customers through a dedicated customer service video telephony system. The
system, designed by Tata Communications, will enable Vinci Park to continue
providing its customers with a high-quality service, while managing all its
business critical applications over a single network.
Tata Communications has designed a bespoke, secure virtual private network
(VPN) solution to meet Vinci Park`s requirements across its multiple sites
around the country. It consists of MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) and
broadband connectivity for the delivery of voice, video telephony and
financial transactions. It is centrally managed from Vinci Park`s
headquarters to ensure cost-effectiveness, and mixes MPLS and IPSec VPNs on
a per-site basis, allowing for tailored solutions for each site.
Tata Communications` certified infrastructure will ensure regulatory
compliance and the security of all financial transactions. The inherent
scalability of the connectivity solution will enable Vinci Park to add more
sites to the network as the company continues to grow.

Feb21 | Tata Communications launches cloud-based policy management solution for MNOs Tata Communications launches cloud-based policy management solution for MNOs
Hosted Policy Engine enables operators to make the most of revenue
opportunities around mobile broadband traffic rapidly and cost-effectively
with a hosted solution for policy management
Tata Communications has launched the world`s first cloud-based policy
management solution that enables mobile network operators (MNOs) to create
differentiated mobile data services quickly and with significantly less
capital investment. As mobile broadband subscribers increase, the service
brings more efficient network optimization for a higher quality user
experience. Developed in partnership with Allot Communications and Openet,
Tata Communications` Hosted Policy Engine allows MNOs to move beyond flat-
rate data packages to deliver targeted data service offers for new revenue
streams.
The Hosted Policy Engine is a pre-integrated policy management solution,
which enforces traffic optimization and monetisation policies in real-time,
based on subscriber usage patterns across 2.5G, 3G, 4G and WiFi networks.
This allows mobile operators to create targeted service packages to
optimize network resources and revenue through tiered service plans for
customers.
Based on Openet`s Policy Charging and Rules Function, and Allot Service
Gateway, the Hosted Policy Engine means MNOs can now implement policy
management cost effectively.
The industry-first policy management solution provides operators with a
simple way to define and share policy application best practices, and to
establish policy hubbing and consistent policy applications for roaming
subscribers, thanks to its common platform and library of policy
capabilities.

Feb8 | Tata Communications extends managed services offering to support mobile industry migration to 4G Tata Communications extends managed services offering to support mobile
industry migration to 4G
Mobile broadband enablement framework offers new monetisation opportunities
for mobile network operators
Tata Communications has announced the expansion of its managed services for
mobile network operators (MNOs) looking to grow their mobile broadband
offering as 4G continues to gather pace globally.
Tata Communications is supporting MNOs around the globe with one of the
industry`s widest reaching service offerings for mobile broadband
enablement. Building on its extensive portfolio of mobile services,
including IPX+ connectivity, voice, messaging, and signalling, the company
has introduced two new solutions the Virtual Private Roaming Hub which
consolidates roaming operations and the LTE Roaming Service to streamline
roaming for 4G networks. Tata Communications is also launching the Managed
SMS Firewall to protect MNOs and consumers against mobile spam.
With the accelerated growth in mobile data spurred by greater smartphone
proliferation, MNOs are looking for ways to generate increased revenue,
reduce customer churn and ensure service continuity as they migrate to 4G.
Tata Communications` managed services simplify the interconnection of MNO
communities, ensuring smoother end-to-end service delivery and management
across networks, resulting in quality and efficiency gains. Tata
Communications` interworking across the mobile ecosystem ensures faster
time to market for new services and lower total cost of ownership for MNOs.
Helping to manage roaming arrangements for MNOs so they can offer best
value and achieve optimal returns, Tata Communications is introducing the
Virtual Private Roaming Hub and LTE Roaming Service. The Virtual Private
Roaming Hub delivers increased efficiencies by consolidating roaming
operations across a community of MNOs, creating economies of scale.
As LTE adoption ramps up, Tata Communications` LTE Roaming Service ensures
service continuity while simplifying LTE roaming interconnection across
MNOs. With Diameter Signalling eXchange for authentication and policy
control and IPX Connect for data roaming and delivery, LTE Roaming further
compliments Tata Communications` extensive experience as the largest mobile
signalling inter-provider network as well as a leading global data network.
Tata Communications also introduces the Managed SMS Firewall which protects
MNO networks against fraud and spam generated by international SMS. With
always-on SMS threat monitoring and protection, based on MNO-set policies
for spam traps and content filtering, Managed SMS Firewall detects, alarms,
and blocks threats to protect mobile networks and subscribers. Tata
Communications` managed solutions are delivered through an IPX+ converged
interconnect platform across mobile networks to manage end-to-end delivery
of multiple services over IP, including voice, video, messaging, roaming
and signalling.

Sep7 | Tata Communications extends DDoS Protection with Network Agnostic Option Tata Communications extends DDoS Protection with Network Agnostic Option
DDoS protection now accessible to customers of all network providers
Tata Communications has launched its network-agnostic Distributed Denial of
Service (DDoS) protection, globally. Delivered over a cloud-based
infrastructure, Tata Communications` DDoS Detection and Mitigation services
will now be available to any enterprise that depends on its internet
availability to serve customers, suppliers, partners and other stake-
holders - regardless of which service provider supplies it with internet
connectivity.
DDoS attacks are caused by thousands of globally distributed internet-based
`bots` flooding target websites with such a high volume of traffic that
genuine users can no longer visit. They can affect any organisation that
has an online presence. These increasingly frequent attacks can be driven
by crime, malice, espionage or even national security issues and typically,
prevents organisations from conducting business over the internet.
The DDoS solution from Tata Communications constantly monitors traffic
patterns across a network, detects attacks against a customer`s internet-
facing infrastructure and then `scrubs` the data, discarding attack traffic
while ensuring that legitimate traffic can reach the intended
infrastructure. This allows the customer`s business to stay online and
fully operational throughout an attack.
