HDFC Bank announced that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) vide its letters dated 06 May 2026, has given its approval to the Bank (being promoter / sponsor of its group entities viz. HDFC Mutual Fund, HDFC Life Insurance Company, HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, HDFC Pension Fund Management and HDFC Securities) to acquire �aggregate holding� of up to 9.95% of the paid-up share capital or voting rights in ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

HDFC Bank has allotted 3,83,322 equity shares under ESOS on 29 April 2026. With this allotment, the paid up equity share capital has increased to 15,39,55,35,906 equity shares of Re.1/- each.

HDFC Bank has allotted 17,84,256 equity shares under ESOS on 22 April 2026. With this allotment, the paid up equity share capital has increased from 15,39,33,68,328 equity shares of Re. 1/- each to 15,39,51,52,584 equity shares of Re.1/- each.

Net profit of HDFC Bank rose 8.05% to Rs 20350.76 crore in the quarter ended March 2026 as against Rs 18834.88 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2025. Total Operating Income rose 0.46% to Rs 87182.50 crore in the quarter ended March 2026 as against Rs 86779.34 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2025.For the full year,net profit rose 7.39% to Rs 76025.97 crore in the year ended March 2026 as against Rs 70792.25 crore during the previous year ended March 2025. Total Operating Income rose 3.64% to Rs 348615.15 crore in the year ended March 2026 as against Rs 336367.43 crore during the previous year ended March 2025.
