Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has acquired Lakadia II Power Transmission Limited for an aggregate value of Rs 18.43 crore, including 50,000 equity shares at par at Rs 10 each, under a Tariff Based Competitive Bidding process, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday. The acquisition, completed on October 12, 2026, involves the establishment of a new 765/400kV Lakadia-II Sub-station in Gujarat and construction of 765kV transmission lines, along with associated equipment, and will be operated on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, or POWERGRID, announced that Shri Akhilesh Pathak has been appointed as Director (Projects) w.e.f. September 30, 2026, for a period until May 31, 2028, or until further orders, as per an order from the Ministry of Power. Shri Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan relinquished the additional charge of Director (Projects) upon Shri Pathak’s assumption of the role, and Shri Pathak, who was previously Executive Director, OSD (Projects) at POWERGRID, is not related to any other directors or key managerial personnel.

Power Grid Corporation of India pursuant to its selection as the successful bidder under Tariff based competitive bidding, has on 03 August 2026 acquired Krishnagiri REZ Transmission, the Project SPV to establish Inter-State Transmission system for �Transmission System for integration of Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I�, on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis from the Bid Process Coordinator - PFC Consulting (PFCCL).
