Gateway Distriparks expands its container train fleet,
Gateway Distriparks announced the addition of one new high capacity container train which is making its first journey today, with 2 more trains being added by March 2024. With these additions, the company will have a total of 34 container trains by the end of this financial year. The company said, These steps are part of our unwavering commitment to growth, operational excellence, and environmental sustainability.The new high-capacity trains are being added on a long-term lease basis, aligning with our goal to fully utilise the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor`s (DFC) capabilities. This corridor allows for heavier loads and significantly faster transit times, essential for modern logistics operations. Gateway Distriparks is ideally positioned in North and West India to maximise the benefits of the DFC. Our network of container terminals is strategically located to utilise the corridor for the longest possible distances, implementing an efficient hub and spoke model. This approach ensures optimal use of our resources, enhancing our service delivery and operational efficiency.Further demonstrating the company`s dedication to growth, in a significant move towards green & sustainable logistics, the company has introduced 60 new road trailers that comply with the BS6 emissions standards. In addition, the company continues the ongoing conversion of existing diesel vehicles to CNG and is exploring the integration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the near future as well.
