In a break from the norm, the stock markets will remain open on this day, as both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) have announced special trading sessions to coincide with the budget presentation.

Trading Hours for the Special Session

For this special trading session, the equity markets will operate from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, in line with the regular market hours. However, the commodity derivatives markets will have extended hours and remain open until 5:00 PM.

Pre-Market Trading and Settlement Details

As per the usual schedule, pre-market trading will take place between 9:00 AM and 9:08 AM, followed by the regular trading session. It’s important to note that the T0 session, which typically handles same-day settlements, will be excluded due to the settlement holiday. This means that trades executed on Friday, January 31, will be settled on Monday, February 3.

 

MCX Trading Session

In addition to BSE and NSE, the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will also remain open on February 1 for live trading. The exchange will be accessible from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing participants to engage in trading activities related to commodities.
