Exchange SMS and Email on Funds and Securities Balances - FAQs
Dear Investor,
You must have received SMS and/or Email from the Stock Exchanges letting you know the details of your funds and securities held by HDFC securities Limited (HSL). Post receipt of this message, many queries has been received from our clients on the same. Through this communication, we seek to clarify on the common questions being posed to us.
Why are Stock Exchanges sending this information?
The recent SEBI regulations on enhanced supervision of Stock Brokers have asked all the Stock Brokers to upload on a monthly basis the value of stocks and Funds of their clients ( Accounts which are Active/Dormant/Closed) with the Stock Exchanges. The information so uploaded is further sent to all clients by the Stock Exchanges to the clients through E Mail and SMS.
What information is being sent ?
The SMS will show Funds and Securities Balances as on July 31 (and last day of every month subsequently) lying with the HSL as a Broker. The mail will contain details of the Funds and Securities Balances as on that date, if any are lying with HSL as a Broker.
What information is not sent?
The SMS and Email does not include the shares lying in your linked Demat account and funds available in your Bank account with HDFC Bank Limited.
Incase I have not Traded, will I still receive the SMS/Email?
Incase you have not Traded; you will still receive SMS and Email.
For how much time this information will be sent?
This will continue on a monthly basis till SEBI changes the rules thereof. The Funds and Securities balances as on last day of every month will be sent by the Exchanges till then.
