Margin Pledge Mechanism Update

This is in continuation of our email to you with regard to the new margin pledge system for investors based on SEBI’s circulars dated 29 Jul 2020 and 25 Feb 2020.

Please note that we have initiated the migration process on Friday 4 Sep 2020. We've raised a Margin Pledge request for your stocks which are lying in our (HDFC securities) demat account and used for margining purpose in your derivatives and equity trades.

What you need to do:
  • You have received (or will receive) a link from NSDL on your e-mail id / mobile no. as per your demat account.
  • Click on the link, to redirect to the NSDL webpage.
  • Here you will be prompted to enter your PAN or Demat a/c no.
  • Once you enter a valid PAN / Demat a/c no., the list of shares with Margin Pledge requested (but pending authentication) will be displayed.
  • Verify all details and select the stocks you wish to pledge.
  • Pls do NOT change the Segment for your pledge request and retain 'All Segments', the default segment displayed by NSDL.
  • Click on Generate OTP.
  • The OTP will be sent to your mobile no. and e-mail id as per your Demat account and will be valid for ONLY 20 minutes.
  • Enter OTP to authenticate the pledge request.
  • The pledge request will be authenticated and accepted by NSDL.

Your stocks will now remain visible in your demat a/c and will be pledged in favour of HSL – Client Securities Margin Pledge a/c.


Please note that you should complete the above process latest by 11:00 AM on Wednesday 9 Sep 2020.
