This is in reference to our prior communication with regard to acceptance of the Margin Pledge request for shares lying in your HDFC Securities Limited (HSL) demat account, and which are being used as margin requirement towards open position in the derivatives and equity segments (E-margin product).

The shares were released into your demat account and placed on hold to initiate the Margin Pledge process on 12 September, 2020 . This pledge request needs to be validated by you before it expires at 11:00 am, 14 September, 2020. The Limits against the same will not be available till the pledge confirmation information flows from the Depository participant to HSL

Please note that failing to authorize the said request (due to any reason) may lead to the following:-

1) Pulling of funds from your linked bank account (on 14 September, 2020 at end of the day)
2) Squaring off of open positions (on 15 September, 2020, if required margin is not available)
3) Penalty from the exchanges due to a margin shortfall in the derivatives segment (in case sufficient margin is not available against the open position).

Here’s what you need to do to ensure uninterrupted services:

• You would have received a link from CDSL on your e-mail id / mobile number linked to your demat account. 
• Click on the link, to authenticate the request on the CDSL webpage. 
• You will be prompted to enter your PAN or Demat a/c no. 
• Once you enter a valid PAN / Demat a/c no., the list of shares for which Margin Pledge has been requested (but pending authentication) will be displayed. 
• Verify all details and select the stocks you wish to pledge. 
• Click on Generate OTP. 
• The OTP will be sent to your mobile no. and e-mail id linked to your Demat account and will be valid for ONLY 20 minutes. 
• Enter the OTP to authenticate the pledge request. 
• The pledge request will be authenticated and accepted by CDSL. 

Your stocks will now remain visible in your demat a/c and will be pledged in favour of HSL – Client securities Margin pledge account or HSL- Client Securities Margin funding account (as applicable).
