Sovereign Gold Bonds Scheme 2019-20 Series VIII

Government of India, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, has decided to issue Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGB), 2019-20 Series VIII. Applications for the bonds will be accepted between January 13, 2020 and January 17, 2020. The Certificate of Bond(s) will be issued on January 21, 2020.


The issue price of the Sovereign Gold Bond for this Series has been fixed at Rs. 3,966 (Rupees Three Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty-Six only) per gram of gold for those who subscribe online and pay through digital mode and Rs. 4,016 (Rupees Four Thousand and Sixteen only) per gram for others.

The annual ceiling will include bonds subscribed under different tranches during initial issuance by Government and those purchased from the Secondary Market.

2.50% per annum on the amount of initial investment. It shall commence from the
date of its issue and is payable every 6 months.
